Overview of Technology Development Operations

With the goal of helping sewerage operations run smoothly and executing our business efficiently, effectively, and safely, we pursue technology development and research utilizing field knowledge and private sector expertise under the following themes: Improving Safety, Enhancing Comfort, Protecting the Global Environment, and Streamlining Operations. We also actively manage and update our accumulated technologies as intellectual property and promote their commercialization.

Main Activities

• As well as advancing technology development through joint research with local governments and private companies, we undertake various research commissioned by local authorities.
• We also conduct our own technology development to facilitate the smooth operation of wastewater services.
• We develop new technologies necessary for improving operational efficiency and sewerage facility safety by applying practical knowledge gained from experience in sludge treatment operations, pipeline maintenance, and so on.

Since our establishment, we have engaged in various kinds of technology development.
As of the end of FY2024, we had filed 563 patent and other applications, of which 216 are now patents, trademarks, and other industrial property rights.
